Click and drag your mouse in the picture to scroll around the circle of Castlerigg. The initial view is to the north through the entrance stones with Lonscale Fell to the left and Threlkeld and Blencathra to the right. Scrolling eastwards reveals the cove of stones with Clough Head beyond. This panorama was taken sometime between 8-9am in mid April 2003 and the colour of the stones changes with the position of the sun. In the mornings the stones have a cool grey hue but as the sun moves round towards the west the evening sunlight transforms them into a rich golden brown.

(Red compass arrow indicates north).
