Click and drag your mouse in the picture to scroll around the Twelve Apostles stone circle. The panorama was taken late in the afternoon in February 2004 as the sun was low in the western sky causing a lot of lens flare, indeed one stone is hidden directly beneath the glare of the sun. The initial view is towards the north where the town of Ilkley lies hidden in the River Wharf valley. To the northeast the radar installation at Menwith Hill can just be glimpsed 15km (9 miles) away as white dots on the horizon.

(Red compass arrow indicates north).
