Barningham Moor 37a & 37b (ERA85 & 84)
The view over Barningham Moor looking north with stones 37a & 37b (ERA85 & 84) in the foreground. Several other stones in the scatter to the right also show signs of being cup marked. On this area of Barningham Moor on a shelf of land along the northern edge of How Tallon there are many carved stones most of which consist of simple cups with many of the stones being grouped into small clusters. A little further to the east along the same shelf are the remains of settlement sites, field boundaries and burnt mounds which are suggested date from the Romano-British period.

This flat rectangular stone has two rows of four cups with opposite pairs of cups linked by very eroded grooves. The pair to the top left have a natural feature incorporated in the linking groove which I've marked as a cup in the diagram. This stone is the one to the bottom left of the picture at the top of this page..

Just a couple of metres to the east of the previous stone and shown to the bottom right of the picture at the top of the page, this stone has four cups linked by worn grooves.

This stone is recorded as having up to 17 cups but due to erosion and a partial covering of lichen I found it very difficult to figure out exactly where most of the cups were - hence no accompanying diagram.
